Makes sense actually. I’ve associated the 2 shows with each other from the beginning, often arguing that, as with GG, I would accept the farcically unrealistic elements of the show if the characters and their conflicts were at least entertaining in a campy way. And the SMASH set is growing on me (slowly and unsurely). And both shows send people too and from Brooklyn without anyone complaining or acknowledging that, even in a car, it takes time. But I’m pretty sure Safran can deliver plotlines with more meat than “what do you mean he’s gay? he likes sports!”.
