Patricia Routledge sings “Ribbons Down My Back” on the 1965 Music for Pleasure studio cast album of ‘Hello, Dolly!’
I wonder if this casting came about because someone remembered that Routledge and Brennan (who originally sang “Ribbons”) both played Little Mary Sunshine. That would seem to have been a more fortuitous bit of casting for Routledge than the 42 London performances would indicate. Also, see this fun tidbit:
